That isn’t to say a Plague Doctor should try to die because they trust the Storyteller to townside, it’s an Outsider ability for a reason. There are so many times when an evil team desperately needed to get an ability snipe and they just couldn’t, so the ST will try to do it instead, etcetera.

But a good ST won’t just give themselves the most overpowered evil ability and play it to perfection so the good team can’t win or anything like that.

Was that problematic with Lil’ Monsta? That information meant everything.

Imagine that a powerful player is sitting next to the demon

The evil team gets wrecked however plague doctor is killed and gets marionette which turns the pro into an evil.

I think it was a clever way to resolve the obvious Marionette jinx issue. It’s especially great because it could be a fantastic bluff… except of course the evil team won’t necessarily know the actual ST-ability.

The difference between lil monsta and a minion ability for me is that lil monsta is just choosing someone to die which is realistically just choosing an ability to remove from the game, “Oh that Savant is getting good info lets get rid of that” “that pixie has broken madness perfect target to kill tonight”

With a minion ability depending on what it is, it’s a bit different. You’re not simply removing abilities from the game you’re actively influencing it, like with roles like the poisoner you’re just choosing to make someone drunk at your will

In regards to the poisoner example, is it that much different to assigning a drunk or sweetheart drunk? Granted it can move, it makes information that little less trustworthy, but as with the previous point you could expect it to be relatively neutral sided overall.
“The good team is winning, let’s poison an information gatherer. The evil team is winning, let’s poison the barber tonight.”
Stuff like that.

Now imagine the ST gaining the ability of the spy.

Spy is jinxed with Plague Bearer. A Minion gains it in addition to their own ability instead.

(I think this confirms that Mole will have two abilities by the way.)

There’s a jinx with Plague Doctor and Spy. A minion picks up the Spy ability after the Plague Doctor is dead.

The premise of “double abilities” is why I’d expect Mole to have a Minion ability instead of just receiving starting information.

Makes me wonder is plague is supposed to be played where the ST has a minion lined up with the boomdandy jinx? like “yeah if the doc dies I get X ability” rather than just picking whatever you want when it dies
