Agreed.
It’s to the point where I don’t really do CL stuff unless I am the CL (or am mad as such) and when I am mad / am the CL, I sometimes don’t even do cult things lol.
I have not played a CL game in ages
this is mostly because nobody ever actually uses it on scripts

i dont ~hate CL but I feel like it’s such a weird townsfolk
I feel like the wincon is unsatisfying to go for earlygame and is a crapshoot lategame so you need to hit it at a very specific time, and getting people to cult vote at that very specific time is difficult

CL is a hateful role and i never go for the cult vote, it just sucks to play with turns botc into a coinflip, I don’t think it should be a townsfolk

CL’s main draw is the alignment flip, in terms of what it learns for itself. If you flip evil you know you’re sitting next to an evil player, fact. When and if you turn good again you can disclose that information if you want.
The problem is playing for evil if you’ve turned evil is just more consistent than trying to play for good. You kill the wrong neighbour (the good one) and stay evil and it’s like

It’s the main reason for it being a townsfolk because I absolutely do not believe the cult ability is in any way a good or useful townsfolk ability that helps solve the game
