When doing nonogram puzzles, if you’re stuck (and solving them in a place that where it’s easy to erase and rewrite, like google sheets), you can assume a square is [colored / not colored], and continue from there - either you solve the puzzle successfully, or you reach a contradiction and can go backwards, now knowing the opposite was true
