She had modest control over some things because we thought that it would just be more fun for everyone to leave some stuff to player agency rather than the evil team just passing control of the game to the hosts and hoping for the best
While the atheist was in play, we respected player agency while trying to balance around it. This was why we respected Mist’s decision to widow-poison YBW instead of blocking it, because Mist expressly did not want the Atheist win-condition to be in play.
Sample Alternate Scenario
YBW makes Magnus into the Lunatic
Mistyx does not poison YBW
Lil Monsta kills YBW
Marluna sees the Widow
YBW now has to scramble to explain to Magnus a plausible world in which she was the starting fang gu in order to fool magnus into thinking he’s really the demon instead of it being an atheist game

Except Lunatic wasn’t on the script, and while Atheist can allow the storytellers to break the rules, I don’t believe it’s ever been suggested going to that extent. If Marluna was quiet that final day, the Widow ping possibly could’ve gone unmentioned. At best, I might have to believe I was a second Demon in an Atheist game.
Especially if something weird happened like me seeing myself as the Vigormortis.
