The whirring of the six remaining soldiers rose to a hum as everyone looked at one another with confusion, their various weapons held aloft in sudden wariness. Yet their defences were in vain, as the ventilation grates swirled with rising potency and the platform itself began to sway in the breeze, swivelling each creature one way or another. The good doctorâs infectious enthusiasm knew no bounds, as the mastermindâs crackly voice chanted over the microphone to commentate over the new environmental hazard. âSawblades come to clash, burning the sky with sparks of FURY! Even your fallen contestantsâ own bodies serve as obstacles as they slam together, missing one fighter by a hair! The moatâs kicked into a frenzy, licking at the tarnished platformâ wait.â
The metallic platform suddenly gave way beneath the crew of six, plummeting into the freezing waters below. Some shivering few managed to kick their way to the surface, whilst others sought to clasp onto floating debris instead. Kiiruma was far less lucky than the rest; as his head broke the waterâs surface, the burnished remains of a lizard fell upon his scalp, sending stars cascading through his field of view. Discombobulated and pained, his body sank below the waters as the ventilationâs weather machine spluttered into silence once more.
