When the 196 Reddit shut down some people went to tumblr and the tumblr posts were way better than the Reddit (especially cuz you could filter out straight up hornyposting)
Then the subReddit came back and now the community of the people who didn’t leave is small but goated

It’s one of those situations where some people have opinions that you never actually see posted but you see people reference them. You see the shadows on the wall of worse internet discourse. Like the xkcd
See I vaguely know the drama but mostly try and avoid it now cuz I prefer tumblr. I have a couple obscure subs I like but basically every main one has the same sense of humor and now I just follow blogs that curate it better and find funnier posts anyways
