i did the exact same when i moved in my second uni. giving me ptsd from the anxiety i felt banging and yelling and waking up my housemates at near midnight to unlock the front door for me

one time i was so guilty that i decided that iām gonna sleep on the bench in the park like a homeless person (and i did it) (i froze my ass off and was terrified someone from uni would see me)

The door autolocks when you close it no matter what & I have no roommates so if I leave my key in there Iām just fucked and have to find an RA to unlock it
I went my first few days without locking myself out once but I go in and out of my room to grab shit so often now that itās just bound to happen with some regularity
