ease of learning, fun,
what is a ā€œfakeā€ language

Iā€™ve heard it as a concept for the military where they try to assess what you need to improve in the process of language learning. They test your ability to see patterns by giving you a fake language and some made-up words from that language.

i dont think may and jake are in the military

a language that isnā€™t the primary language of any country
a ā€˜uselessā€™ language

wheras if you instead put that effort toward learning like
spanish
you can use it if you ever visit mexico

the process of learning a fake language and a real one canā€™t be that different that toki pona is ā€˜funā€™ to learn where an actual useful language is ā€˜unfunā€™

Thatā€™s what they lead you to believe.

Clearly

toki ponaā€™s structure is completely different to any natural language, so honestly, yeah, it is very different to learning a language that naturally coalesced

itā€™s also easier because toki pona is essentially designed to be the least complicated language that is still a coherent language capable of expressing most concepts, and it does this through various vocabulary and grammar tricks that are really cool
