Pathologic is another game I’ve played
Fucking perfect game on all fronts minus the legibility of the text (but that’s honest to god a design decision to a degree)
Despite me liking ‘hard and esoteric’ and ‘absurdly high difficulty’ as genres, I fucking hate dark souls as a series and I still don’t know why
My game difficulty matrix considers four different categories of difficulty:
mechanical / technical difficulty
level of esoteric
punish factor
bullshit factor
dark souls fits comfortably in my favorite range of high on the first two and not really on the others

When TLOU2 came out I was swept up in the current and criticized its gameplay design for ??? reasons
And I do bash 5e more than its worth
