well, worlds don’t really end, the horror of nuclear fallout is that it would transform the world into something unrecognisably horrible, not that the world would just stop happening. same with climate change
with that said, Stanislav Petrov did deliberately choose to not report a false alarm indicating that the US was firing nuclear missles at the USSR, thereby preventing full-scale mutually assured destruction, so in that specific regard the world has not ended

probably mass emigration to the few areas of the state that won’t be consumed by the rising seas, which will put unfathomable strain on public services and cause untold human suffering
