the thing is that it’s really really easy to “dodge” the most outwardly deadly aspects of climate change, like floods and such, and the stuff you can’t dodge is generally just a massive inconvenience like the high temperatures. the thing is that we’ve centered our entire society around pretending it’s not happening and we’re going to Solve It, and so we are not prepared for the consequences of mass displacement, losses of homes, and so on

the climate changing is bad because it causes so many small things to completely collapse, which will eventually ruin us if we don’t fight, now. hell, not even now. ten years ago. we should’ve started fighting ten years ago.
