Locked myself out of my dorm building but didn’t have to call an RA cause someone was there to let me in we’re gaming

I asked random people and they were like “you know you need an ID from your dorm to open it dumbass” (They didn’t phrase it like that) but then someone from my hall came in immediately afterward easy game
how are you not already in the habit of bringing your id everywhere you go
Yesterday I was walking out of the dining hall and I saw someone I knew and they were like “you should eat with us! Oh wait you’re leaving” and then I said yeah I’m leaving and left. And then I went and got a second idnner later. Should’ve just eaten with them

The actual habit is my parents are here for the weekend and so it keeps breaking my habits, I bring my ID everywhere but when I’m leaving the actual campus in a Car my brain shortcircuits
The only other time I forget to bring my ID is when I’m taking out the recycling because it’s such a short trpi that it doesn’t mentally register
So do you want the cookie or should I take it
