I’ve had recent debates with family members over the different theming that Tangled would’ve had in the case that the first five minutes were cut.

Skipping the opening would prevent the following points from being given to the audience immediately:
Summary
- Eugene’s “death” from his opening monologue.
- The magic flower and Gothel’s backstory.
- Repunzel’s secret as a member of the royal family, and her kidnapping.
- The purpose behind the floating lanterns.
The premise is that the rest of the movie eventually unveils these points anyway, building intrigue and mystery from the Disney subversion if you didn’t know the original story.

Holding out hope for Inside Out 2 purely because of how much it has to work with. It is very much a film with the potential to completely and utterly break me if it goes dark enough.
