Cookie Thread Act 4 (Act 5): The Fifth One

so many studies are like “we ran a poll and we got this!” → the poll consists of them asking 100 people on their website something. which has both an incredibly small sample size and also you are asking people who frequent a certain website, which is going to bias your dataset greatly and doesn’t accurately represent any population outside of “people who use this website”

I do agree to some extent that people are more predisposed to treat strangers with more scrutiny and even hostility, but not to a great amount like that.

it was more so about like “if you give people authority they will abuse it” which like can be true but the standford prison experiment was trying to show that like any random person when given authority will abuse that authority

I bet you think every american college student is in a friend group of a perfectly even distribution of races and sexualities and they take pictures on the grass with their friends (at least one friend of each race and at least one clearly queer person) and then post those real pictures for magazine covers or to advertise the college

And then they go to parties and the Football Quarterback holds a nerd upside down while forcing him to drink beer with straws from a barrel and then everyone cheers “CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG” including the crush of the nerd protagonist named “Kimberleigh” whos also a hot blonde cheerleader dating Todd the football captain who stuffs the nerd in the locker

And then the nerd later applies for a fraternity and they require of him to strip and run around campus naked and then theres a scene at a Bar where a guy asks a girl “can i buy u a drink” and she says “im not intereeted i have a boyfriend” but he and then

You’ve developed a personality where you want to be infantalised because people usually don’t do that to you. If you were regularly then you wouldn’t like it

Nah. Ours were hosted like an hour away from the school. At event places usually, the kind you’d rent out for a wedding. There’s nowhere to go near here cause it’s the middle of nowhere so I think most schools will have prom closer by but

I have not done this. People odn’t really do this at my college. They mostly do homework and shout about the homework very loudly such that I can hear them and cry about how they’re never going to get into med school because they have a 3.8 or whateve r
