these things actually haunt my dreams.
I feel like the show’s pilot is firmly trying to check off all the things that appeal to the Youtube crowd:
- Lots of potential lore in a world (yet to be seen whether it’s meaningful or just lore bait)
- [censored]ed up things happening in a bubbly world and all that juxtaposition
- A Chaotic Evil character
- Meta-modern self-awareness that extends into its humor
- Me when random (comedy)
I do think the show has potential - I’ve come to appreciate how the show embraces its digital setting, and both released episodes have some great character moments - but I really want to see it explore its supporting cast much more because they still feel quite one-note.
