@pandora Most of the harmful algal blooms I can see reported in the U.S. are either 1. in Florida 2. in the Gulf of Maine 3. in lakes (where they wouldn’t be called red Tides). I think this is the cause of the Florida/Massachusetts localisation of this knowledge

I learned about algal blooms in science classes growing up here, and we also talked about harmful algal blooms in college in New York like everybody knew about them but only in the context of lakes
