a former coworker made a monitoring script for part of our cloud platform’s disk usage because the dogshit cloud platform was made by assholes and had no built-in way of actually checking the metric we wanted to. Former coworker used a radix of 1000 to estimate part of it which was wrong, and it causes a problem because they script was reporting we had a lot more free space than we actually did. It took me hours to figure out exactly why the math was wrong and where. Nightmare.
