This is me designing absolutely anything btw. All games at their core are either d&d or pinball
i think she means stuff like “smite evil”
correct me if I am wrong
ohhh like the mechanical effects of alignment
thats completely fair
yeah
alignments are ok for character building
they could be a bit limiting for the creative, and they definitely shouldn’t have any impact on mech
so alignments being optional is probably the way to go
(as in like if you wanted to create a character full of muddy internal contradictions that they need to sort through, alignments would not help with that but alignments are good for character building in many other scenarios. so that’s why it would be optional)
also good and evil being forces in the lore fucking sucks
I think it’s a very 2-dimensional way to think about a character and their decision making. And also fuckin weird because most people think they’re good at heart or neutral at worst so it’s like prescriptive of how an outside observer will interpret their morality rather than descriptive of the character’s internal understanding. So, I don’t actually think it’s all that useful for character construction either.
yeah lol
ok actually while we’re on this topic does anyone know any good adaptations of d&d to pokemon mystery dungeon format because ive watched streamers play it several times and have no idea what system they’re using
I did not know how much I needed this until right now.
kiss
That sounds more like a flaw with the person using the alignment system rather than the system itself. The system itself is two diemnesional but i think its an easy way to describe a characters tendencies. They may be lawful good, but its only “human” that they may do a chaotic or evil thing when tempted, though they are typically going to be lawful and good. If a person makes an evil charavter and then wont recognize that character as evil thats not reslly the alignment systems fault that a character was mislabeled (tho tbf there is also a lot of stigma with evil characters bc they are typically done poorly)
I just dont really see it as a negative and i think (esp for new players) its a great stepping stone for learning how to roleplay as a certain character
I think the bot is done!
Would anybody be interested in playing shorter-form Combinatorics Mafia games to test it out? I think we could do an 8 player setup? 2 wolves, 2 masons, 4 VTs?
mememememe anything for may
Sure.
The artist said they were happy I immediately started using their pfp
think 2 combinations are inherently more swingy
I didn’t do math on this but I think I’m right?
