generally indescribable. i now realise ive had it in my favourites for a year and its much older than thought. it also looks nothing like i remember it. yet still
easily the biggest problem with 2014 5e in my mind is how bulky casters are if they are built correctly
i enjoy this image
it echoes into my brain
and is generally unpleasant to digest
it is usually from a 1 level dip into a class with armor like cleric or a divine soul sorcerer dip for shield + absorb elements but
holy fuck
19 passive AC that goes up to 24 AC in a system that, due to bounded accuracy, is absolutely not prepared for high AC player characters
Casters have way too good of defense for so little cost
Martials have to give up tons of damage through not being able to use the aforementioned Good Martial Feats to have strong AC
this one however is greatly appealing. like theres deep beauty in it to me
You won’t run into problems with the martial caster divide at most tables thankfully
I personally consider it a design problem though since the balance being very easy to upset can create the friction I mentioned earlier
i dont know why these resonate with me so hard. probably like how i feel like the lack of something, its the sheer amount of undecipherable data like somethings just been ripped out of space. with the second one thats true thats a genuine corrupted image. i find great beauty in corruptions. something something the exactness grains in the sand etc
My gripe is that ‘tank in heavy armor’ is a valid fantasy archetype but it just sucks and doesn’t work and you should instead be a caster if you want to be tanky through AC
geyde wanna switch conversations for a bit
I don’t see 2024 fixing this
In fact, they’ve made having high AC as a caster a hell of a lot easier
my special interest…
sure I’ll dip
i just meant it’d be funny if you started talking about the beauty of corruptions and i did yours
I should’ve said trade conversation
oh I don’t have that much to say about corruption
