Like with blenders the answer is get one that’s expensive and highly rated. You can probably look for one with a brushless motor but I’m not sure a lot of qualities that make them quieter are going to be listed on the feature list.

It’s more expensive to manufacture and part of it is just that a blender is… a blender. The motor has an absurdly high RPM, and violently ripping things to pieces is noisy. Mine is $300. It’s very solid, and the jar couples snuggly to the base (this can cause a lot of rattling if it’s not tightly coupled). It’s still pretty fucking loud. It’s probably quieter than a cheaper blender doing the same thing, but it’s just gonna be loud no matter what due to the nature of obliterating things into tiny pieces.

when i went to boston our airbnb had a broken blender and i wanted a milkshake so i just used a spoon and crushed some oreos and
