these are not the types of questions it’s good to have people who just took geography asking

They shouldn’t be doing such a thing, even if a cop is N1d then the setup is still town sided. Quite literally, a cop could claim D1 and the setup is still town sided reducing complexity by an extreme amount, only having to get 1-2 social clears(iirc) in order to have a mechanical game solve.

Village losing a game is not a good case for a lack of complexity, I would argue that the cop dying, and then village losing the game due to a lack of social reads further proves the value of socail reads, adding more complexity to a setup? If you have more than one peak the game is over, quite literally with any competence whatsoever.

Peeks are incredibly powerful, which is the very thing that reduces complexity. They’re powerful enough to the point where, even with two clears in a 13er(the cop and the N0) the setup is village sided. A cop should play not to die, but intentionally playing not to die is both incredibly silly, contradicts your own statement of the cop not being worried about getting day lynched, and allows for PR hunting even further. Just having 100% reads is way more useful than having a singular other clear if you’re competent at pushing for it, which adds complexity to social games. The only complexity in a cop9er or 13er is if the wolves can hunt the PR effectively, which adds complexity to the wolves side not villages side; and, once the cop dies, the setup is both 1. still town sided with a N0 check and 2. reduced to just a social game with an innocent child, which once again- reduces complexity.

Cop13 N0 is a bad format given it’s town sided to the point where complexity is reduced, as mentioned around 50 times right now? A N0 hypoclaim is stupid but pretty normal yes, but why it’s stupid is a topic reserved for another time. I know what hypoclaiming is, I fail to see a reason why it changes everything. Thank you for the mechanical debrief, but faking a cop check does not add to complexity. I just need to go “x is green” in order to hypoclaim here. It does not add “much, much” more complexity when the setup is still village sided, and at BEST it adds complexity to the wolves and to the cop here, leaving 9-10(depending on the used ratios) players with an easier time mechanically and socially. I know this has happened I’ve played quite a ton of joat10ers / cop9ers. That odes not affect anything.

I know what the meta is. You are literally just changing my argument entirely. I do not care the hypoclaiming meta, that does not add complexity. You are strawmanning what I am saying.

Reason why it’s less complex:

  • For the 9 villagers, having 2 innocent childs from the start makes the game easier.
  • You can use the cop checks to fall back into clears for strong players.
  • A N0 check makes the game exponentially town sided.
  • If the cop survives past N1 it is a mechanical win in most scenarios.
  • Rolling a PR guarantees you at the very least live D1, removing the need to clear yourself.

Once again, I am not arguing it is easier for wolves. It is easier for basically every village role. It is less complex for basically every village role.
