the spade ring is normally one of the easiest attacks in the jevil fight! the scratch simulator spade ring makes you think it’ll be like this and then it’s just not

in the attack you said you hated so much of the 4 times it showed up you only got hit 4-5 times
genuinely one of my better runs on that attack. i perhaps exaggerated my hate for the earlier versions but that’s more in anticipations of the later version that’s just. too many things for me to focus on at once. it fucks me up

pacifist is harder because all the acts that progress the spare bar require the tp equivalent. and are from the main character’s menu. so unlike in the fight mode wherein you can just ignore, say, the find the pipis attack in lieu of dodging in pacifist you really need those pipis. and tp in general. so priorities become more skewed, which makes dodging harder, and it’s harder to spend tp on the healing act when you already have to spend tp to progress the fight (and especially because the optimal progression act requires all three turns anyway) and it’s just. so much harder than the fight route. i’ve done the fight route itemless but i’ve never done the pacifist route itemless and probably never will (though i have beaten it).
