Yeah i just googled it. It comes from latin alienus or something like that which means foreign

Google says gaijin (japanese) also means alien but im not sure if its because the word always meant alien or because theyre translating foreigner into alien to account for the english (american) translation of foreigner => alien. I havent heard british people use that. @Arctic do they use the word alien to describe non-UK citizens in the UK?

Alien means foreign, and referring to a person it means a foreigner. Space aliens are called aliens because they’re foreigners to the planet.
