to be clear, his stats weren’t very good, it’s not like he fumbled a likely trip to the majors or anything. but he probably could’ve lasted at least a few years in the minors, and maybe he could’ve parlayed that into something. he could’ve gotten a job for sure. now when prospective employers look him up they can’t possibly miss that he’s the guy who intentionally threw games in the minors because he wanted to go home - and no one’s going to want to employ someone like that.
