if you wanna run like, actual CAD n shit, having a beefy boi helps a lot
but that means shit battery life and heavy weight
How useful is being able to do that on a laptop from your experience
which means if you’re planning on taking it places you’ll basically be tethered to a wall most of the time
Because im thinking abt bringing my desktop
It’s HIGHLY dependent on you
I always just check wirecutter
Personally I highly recommend taking notes with pencil and a notebook, and I never really liked to do homework at libraries or coffee shops or whatever, I just did it at my desk
So like a good laptop was never really necessary for school
hmmm ok thank you orange
I appreciated having one that could chunk through CAD mostly for Solar Car and the occasional group project, but because of that the shitty battery life never bothered me
idk what your budget is but they have other articles that go more into depth on specific things/budget ranges too
I can spend a good chunk
people saved money for me that im not using for tuition now lmao
my handwriting is fucking horrible so i dont use pen and pencil whenevr possbile
So I could just make the old gaming laptop work until I built a desktop
I eventually upgraded to a new laptop (at the time [February 2023] I got a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro) mostly for Solar Car reasons, I was doing race crew again and needed a good laptop to use all summer and to take to Australia
Would recommend Dell XPS 15
It’s a bit expensive though I don’t know your budget
That sounds like a really good reason to start using pen and pencil tbh
no trust me
i also write WAY SLOWER
But I prefer to do CAD and stuff on my desktop anyways
So im thinking that’s where I’ll end up doing most of my work and not on beefboy laptop
I like the big monitor
