i feel the exact opposite. the human realm stuff was SO boring, none of the episodes really progressed any of the characters attitudes or any of their plotliens (which lead to a pretty poor ending of the entire season) while the second half tried to actually do stuff but had so little time left and so amny characters to develop that it ended up doing it very poorly.
The things you learn when actually training with an actual coach to actually compete are usually pretty good bits of advice even when just doing normal workouts
