i still mostly just feel. left behind. always.
there’s yet another scene from this game that just. hits hard. i can’t do it justice without telling you to play the entire game and have my entire background but.
before it happens the mc and his best friend(s) are at a fair, but one of them is extremely unavailable b/c they’re working on a film they’re directing and they’re super busy with it, so he ends up basically not participating and leaving. and it’s painfully obvious that his other best friend (who is the MORE best friend so i just call her the best friend) is trying very hard to disguise her just feeling. left behind.
the actual scene is shortly after the mc leaves the fair because he’s having basically a panic attack, and finds [other character] who is somehow able to help him relax. and they do a few more things together, and near the end him and the other character are sitting by the ocean, right outside the boundries of the fair, and just talking
and it cuts to his best friend looking for him near there, before she spots him laughing and having fun with the other character
and just. they don’t even have her say anything but. how they show her face and her reaction is just. why did you have to stab me directly in the heart. she feels like she’s just, losing her best friends. and my go
and it cuts back and shows that she’s gone after seeing that, and he didn’t even notice she was there the whole time.
and i feel like i feel like that so often. always left behind, never thought about when getting people to do fun things. always a background character to everyone else. i hate it.

An aromatic compound is a type of especially-stable organic compound. Aromatic compounds have a flat (“planar”) ring of carbons, all of which have overlapping p-orbitals, and a total of 4n+2 electrons in those p-orbitals (so 2, 6, 10, 14, etc.). The reason these compounds are especially stable is because they’re able to essentially share all of their electrons between each other in a continuous loop - you need 4n+2 electrons because (vague hand wave) this is the stable number. Compounds with 4n pi electrons (4, 8, 12) are especially unstable and are called antiaromatic.
