Ghosts (as claimed by fairy tales and mythology and such) arent real because theyre myths and fairy tales and folklore. They never haunted anybody. Its not impossible that there are aliens or undiscovered creatures on earth and those aliens to be able to be transparent and fly after death. But they would have to be a new discovery. Like theyre a new thing. We could give them the name ghosts. There arent old ghosts as claimed by fairy tales theres no proof of them existing and the onus falls to prove something exists rather than disprove something exists when we dont know anything about it

Like if somebody said they were haunted I wouldn’t think “well I need more evidence to know if this is true” I’d think “no you’re not lol” unless there was EXTREMELY overwhelming proof. So I don’t think I’m meaningfully open minded

this probably would’ve been me before i took that class but again. bit more open minded now. you’re probably not haunted but let’s at least find an alternate explanation before ruling it out entirely

Nobody should be open minded enough to consider claims of being haunted by ghosts or somebody being a time traveller, at best youd be wasting your time at worst youd be prone to being manipulated due to your gullibility and desire for fantasy and adventure

The thing that initiated this confusion was a Tumblr poll where people, when asked if they believed in ghosts, almost universally tagged either “yes” or “I’m open to the possibility and I’d like to think so but idk guess not”, while I would say “obviously no”
