If you think that (i.e., fried food) looks gross, then you haven’t seen enough cuisine from all over the world.
(Plus, eating is way less worse than preparing. Frying food is easy, but at least you didn’t debone chicken wings.)

How’re you communicating a list of allowed words to the player?
From extensive Word Match experience, players don’t want to have to keep guessing until they hit an acceptable word.

ive seen a lady fry grasshoppers she made them look crazy good i wanna try
they look way more appetizing to me than deep fried fish and chicken. chicken i can live with, deep frying fish feels like a culinary war crime to me
frying food with a pan is good i do it all the time. deep frying isnt easy because its not realistic for u to do it on ur own at home, way too much oil, and u need equipment
deboning chicken wings is annoying yeah ive deboned once. im not grossed out by food im grossed out specifically by the deep fried fish
raw fish has such a pleasant looking texture. it looks beautiful. why ruin it with that other texture and color. its like u hate looking at fish

the name of the cornbread translates almost literally to “beggar” here. which made sense to me because its a simple dish but i was annoyed when i found out that they gave such a name to such delicious food. such bullshit. like salt being seen as a food for villagers or lobsters being seen as food for poor people. corn bread is such a comforting thing
