Yes BotC is quite silly
This mechanic primarily matters for Zombuul but also Vortox
Part of why that exists is because certain abilities can misregister as alive or dead in numerous scripts, and so you’d have to execute them in order to “kill them again”.
But it’s also significant because you can’t just vote to execute nobody, and since it’s majority, that means evil players could just vote in the last two seconds and win.

Killing me N2 with a blind Eye guess would be an incredible coincidence; Kiiruma didn’t claim to anybody D1; you hadn’t claimed to any alive players before your death. The Eye would’ve missed by now with these kills, most likely.

Nominating a dead player gives us the opportunity to sleep into F3, eliminating a player from the Demon POE, etcetera. It also prevents the End from accidentally killing a player, so it’s win-win.
Pick any dead player you might have a grudge against. I won’t judge if it’s me!
