It seems like most people basically agree that 36/12 is not good for a game like this
And then 24/24 seems to have stronger support than 12/12, but 48/24 isn’t far behind
Definitely seems like we might want to consider keeping the 24/24 timing for a hypothetical FAM 3
But I am also curious how many people here have actually played 12/12, because a lot of MU people swear by it but I don’t think we’ve ever had a 12/12 game run on this site ever
I’ve done it one time and hated it lmao so I’m not exactly sad if it’s being underrepresented, but it is interesting to see
assuming someone gets 8 hours of sleep everyday there would be an incredible amount of bias to timezones that have night at night time and god help you if you go to sleep at daystart

12/12 is personally godawful for me
i personally function much better with day cycles that cover at least 24h as most of my time i can spend itt is at night
plus the obvious timezone fuckery with 12/12
but yeah 12/12 begins to feel like a chore if game goes on too long, moves too fast, and you never feel like you can catch your breath
24/24 pleasantly surprised me
i think i’d still prefer 12/12 if i were to play a mash but as a host i think in hindsight 24/24 was just better for us
with some better scheduling and maybe some more design around how to accommodate for the Longer Phases tho i think 24/24 could be pretty good and if the players here prefer it then i think it’s probably fine to run for future mashes here
