okay but meta reads are easy to make regardless of alignment and experience
why does this factor info your read
ok
what do you think they would do differently as a wolf?
that was to min
can i also reinstate the fact literally almost nobody besides a select few handful of the playerlist still hasnt given any sort of actual read towards me and its a mix of annoying and nervewracking. Unless im missing something
why is it nerve-wracking?
you might be town but you might also be mafia
because i dont like my slot being ignored especially as i believe ive given more than enough content for people to at least have a lean on me. And literally everygame my slot is treated like this people only start pretending they found me scummy lategame and i fucking hate being in my/lo especially when everyone else is miscleared to smithereens
Hey Arete, I asked this earlier and I want your thoughts on it. You’ve discussed Vulgard a bit, but not this part, what is your read on him and what are your thoughts on the fact he has almost exactly the opposite of your reads?
because the specific meta read he made made sense from the perspective I think he would have as a villager/was focused on someone salient to him (my understanding is that he and Wazza were w/w in the BotF game) rather than being like, ‘I want to make a meta read, let me go do that’
and because he pretty clearly actually believed in it
well this has lost its relevance to experience
i kind of see what you mean but
i don’t think the reference to experience was meaningful
i add random stuff to my posts to sound smart too but i usually do it as a wolf so
yeah
wow this sounds really condescending
i imagine this probably wasn’t your intention but i don’t really know what else to infer when from this conversation i’ve discovered that this factor had pretty much no relevance to the read
I think he is probably a villager for reasons I’ve explained several times
him and I disagreeing with some of our reads doesn’t really concern me all that much, I checked the specific ping you pinged me for and it was me calling Mist >rand W while he called her a villager, but I could be wrong on her, and separately his reasoning for calling Mist a villager seemed ~fine
Vul and I have similar playstyles but we aren’t literally a hivemind
no it is relevant to experience because:
- inexperienced villagers are more likely than experienced villagers to reach for metareads when they’re struggling to get into the game, as opposed to some other reading method
- the specific metareads inexperienced and experienced villagers care about tend to be different, YBW is using one from his last wolf game, whereas more experienced players tend to focus metareads more on like, who the polarized people are (obviously this is a trend it’s not 100% true)
but isn’t this also true for inexperienced wolves
explain what was going through your head when you made these two posts
no I’m not telling you what the issue is, I don’t want you to go into this knowing the “right answer”
somewhat true but depends on the wolf
it’s broadly speaking more of a tell when you get to more experienced wolves
uh huh
im gonna be honest this hasn’t massively helped me understand tbh lmao
i will however leave you with two questions
- what do you think about outedwolf
- why is coke brown
no offense but if you’ve gotten the impression that I’m satisfied with your answers that sounds like a you problem
I have the option to change my mind, it’s not my goal
no one is stopping you from talking about other people
his early posts were kind of lackluster but his later solving seems ~okay and … like he’s following his own wandering path rather than trying to get anywhere in specific
we disagree on like everything but I don’t want to scumread him for it because last time we played he kept trying to discredit my most confident townread and then he was right and I was wrong
the internet says it has caramel for color
why did you switch from voting me to voting cloned here?
as far as I can tell from your big wallpost, you still want to push me, and didn’t say anything about cloned
