Let the chips fall where they may. This is only one potential outcome out of thousands. Perhaps this conclusion was the most likely one, and perhaps it wasn’t. None of that matters now, for the way these particular dice turned is the only thing that has actually happened. All that remains to be seen is the consequences of that action.

Is this not the insanity we all strive for? Everything has come down to this moment. All there is to do now is read the outcome. Are you ready? Could anybody ever be ready?

Your bets aren’t placed on the roll of a die; instead, you’re all-in on a person. You’ve dedicated years of your life to building up your best friend’s idol career as her manager, and you are not going to let anybody threaten that, no matter what it takes. If you find somebody who you fear might harm her, you can use your resources to keep them quiet for the night. Hand them a stack of money and let them go and ruin somebody else later. Your parents’ money only goes so far, but with a little luck, you can win enough at the table to keep anybody quiet.
All that matters is that nothing gets out.

Ability: Each night, select a player, different from last night. They cannot act tonight (strongwilled abilities may override this), but tomorrow night, they receive the boosted version of their night action as if they had won a gamble. You cannot block factional actions.
Gamble Won: Select two different targets: one to block tonight, and one to boost the night after.

You’re here for one thing: the thrill of risking it all. You’re driven to make higher and higher bets, raising the stakes until absolutely everything is on the line… this is what satisfies you, not the win or the loss. Not all of your classmates are the same, though. They gamble for personal benefit, for social status, for financial gain, or out of pure desire to lose it all, and to achieve those ends, they cheat. They attempt to create the thing that is most despicable to you: a guaranteed outcome.
What your opponents don’t realize is that even a rigged game’s outcome is not a certainty. You’ve made waves at the school by uncovering their cheats and turning their own games against them. The formula is simple: buy your way into a gamble and watch your opponent carefully. If you win while you’re playing by the rules, that’s all well and good, but if you find yourself losing, keep an eye out. Once you’ve lost once, you’ll pick up on your opponent’s tricks, and then you can use them to your own advantage, turning a rigged game to your own benefit.

Ability: If a player you bet on is executed and flips town, you inherit that player’s ability for the night and following day phase. Limited-shot abilities will not be refreshed. The effects of copied abilities stay active until they are fully resolved.
Gamble Won: Gain the satisfaction of having succeeded.

You don’t usually run any gambles yourself. For a long time, the high-stakes life of Hyakkaou Private Academy wasn’t something you indulged in any more than you had to in order to survive. Ever since you lost it all and became a house pet, though, you’ve found yourself constantly acting as a pawn in somebody else’s scheme. You don’t feel you’ve had a choice in the matter: the debts you’ve incurred have been deep, whether thanks to gambling losses or the unconditional help your classmate showed you which you feel obliged to repay.
All you need to do is to obey orders and facilitate some cheats. Often, those orders will be simple: peek at somebody’s cards and signal what they’ve got, keep an eye on a player and watch if they try to make any strange moves, and generally modify the outcomes so that your owner (or friend) cannot be stopped. Some assignments will be more challenging, though, and you’ll need to use your quick wit to find a way to send signals across the table and work out a plan.

Ability: Each night, select a player to follow. All their actions will be strongwilled and hidden from investigatives, and you will be seen performing those actions in their place.
Gamble Won: Send an anonymous message of up to 500 characters to your target. During the first 24 hours of the following day, they may write a message back to you.

Nanami Tsubomi: Indian Poker
⚬ ♧ ⚬ ♢ ⚬ ♤ ⚬
Indian Poker is a variant of poker with a twist. One of each player’s cards is, as usual, visible to only them, but the other is held up to their head such that every other player at the table can see it but its owner. Each player places their bets half-blind to the value of their own hand. This game, by design, is vulnerable to a simple tactic: cooperate with one of your opponents and signal your cards, and your bully, Jun Kiwatari, would have you do just that, forcing you to play to his favor.
Jun can see the card held up to your forehead, and you can see his – if you signal your results to each other, Jun will take advantage of that and use it to win. As far as he knows, you would never – could never – disobey an order, so he’s got no intention of helping you out on his way up.
Don’t get confused, though: Jun needs you, not the other way around. Without your help, he’d risk losing the game and falling into crushing debt. However, your status as a house pet means you don’t have the right to assert your own personhood… not yet, anyway. You’ll need to earn your freedom back at the table to break free of his control.

Ability: Each night, select a player to track. At the end of the night, the player with the Jun Kiwatari role will learn who they visited, and you will receive his investigative results. If you die, a list of your targets will be published alongside your flip.
Gamble Won: Learn who Jun Kiwatari targeted.

You win when the mafia reach parity with the remaining players and defeat any other players with opposing win conditions.
Your faction grants you access to the following abilities:
Factional Kill: Each night, the mafia may select a player to kill. This kill is optional and assigned, and it may be performed alongside other actions.
Factional Gamble Abilities: If a mafia member places a bet on a town-aligned player who is executed that day, they will receive a boosted night action. Mafia members will not receive boosted night actions from the execution of other mafia members. If multiple mafia members bet on the same player, the mafia must choose one player to receive the boost.
