Don’t look at me for speeches.
I am the warmonger whenever it comes to dealing with crazy people.
If you want somebody to make a speech, I will readily offer my skills. I would say to call it a favor for being my acquaintance in the years past, but the truth is that I want to do it because I could leverage the speech for my ulterior gain and destabilize your rule.
I don’t see why we couldn’t work on the same speech.
That… may actually be a good option? I feel like I am your loudest voice of opposition, and you are your own strongest supporter. Perhaps that is the only way to meet a true middle ground.
…Ophelia’s been sleeping in her chair for the last few minutes
She gets up and rubs her eyes “Oh, we’re onto accusing people of being frogs now…”
“I thought that sorta thing was exclusive to me and demons.”
“No, I have no idea how this happened either.”
“If The Counts would help push the option through, I would gladly work with you in this speech for a middle ground approach.”
I would need slightly more defined conditions. “Work with me” could mean many things, and as they say,
“Vagueness is the tool of a man who, at times, does things that can be either bad or good, or some third option”
(Gonna be honest I have no idea what option b is this is lore)
VOTE: Option D
She puts her face back in her arms “You’ll get used to people screaming it at you.”
“The condition is simply helping me rationalize to a crowd why their beliefs are irrational and use rhetorical devices to help sway them.”
Oh trust me, I have… ideas. Population control is one of my many skills, and together we could do something pretty great. I just want some kind of reassurance that you will either use my logic, or let me have a place at the podium when delivering this speech to the South.
(I honestly think having you at the podium would be pretty cool, imagine the grandees would dislike having a count and a former count making a speech in their region though)
“I can’t promise you that I would use the logic you present, but I can make sure that you do get a place at the podium and that we would both work together and try to work out a speech that can appropriately be read out.”
Yes. A second issue is that I am… not charismatic. Many consider me to be outright grating. I can come up with good messaging but delivery is not usually my job.
Still, I suppose I could do my best. And together we could deliver something a lot, lot more convincing than the options currently presenting.
It is not my wish to push the grandees into a corner. That, to me, is a lot scarier than grandees who think that everything is fine.
Personally, I think the messaging has to appeal to the South’s fervent devotion to the Ninth. Convince them that this rumor is, in some way, attempting to undermine their religion.
My personal suggestion is make it, in some way/shape/form, about, and forgive me for even bringing this up, the Disciples of the Tenth. Playing this off as some sort of illicit attempt to undermine goodwill towards the council and the Ninth as a whole. Turn the eyes away from us as a shadow group, and towards a shadow group that perhaps hits a lot closer to home
And of course, it’s King Litten’s job to stamp out these unfaithful groups. But i’m sure our king can handle that task, no?
Some talking points that could perhaps greatly assist in garnering goodwill:
The average region’s devotion to the Ninth at the beginning of Queen Eliza’s reign was merely an estimated 5/10 among Counts, Grandees, and Barons. Now, between those three, it rounds to an 8/10. We are in an era of unprecedented devotion thanks largely to this council, and rumors attempting to undermine the council are just a way to attack those who have ushered in the “Holy Era”, as I have just now coined it.
