i do plan on creating another setup (creating as in i have the exact idea planned out and i just need to write it down lol) that plays with the idea of wish-granting in a shop based form since that seems like a better way to balance wish granters and people enjoyed the role I made that used that idea in last year’s KRC

i will say the last quizbowlcord game i played had a wolf role that could request any ability it wanted but i just turned it into a roleblocker because

a. i’m not that creative
b. we were already heavily winning and the last thing i wanted to do was create variance

I’m on the other side of this: I think it’s entirely reasonable that people try to win with wishes and puzzles and stuff, and I don’t think that not going out of your way to do esoteric bullshit is “ruining the fun”. Because the core fun of mafia is in trying to win, the core fun of any game is challenge and difficulty

If you want people to do interesting/creative stuff with your mech, I think you should put other interesting stuff in the game for it to interact with. In a ~vanilla mafia game, there’s really not much that has power other than alignment checks and kills; almost every other mafia role is either alignment/kill OR something that interacts with other roles
