oh right there was those alice games right?
yeah none of them went very well for the hosts either

let me be clear that going out of both TOM and T.O.M.M.Y.G.U.N i was perfectly fine. but every single other one of these did not go well for the host!
Live interaction is amazing when you’re able to get it working - there’s a QBCord Harry Potter game where Carbon had a Room of Requirement neighborhood, and they basically bounced off the GM to get a whole bunch of stuff that led to the creation of a new Horcrux mechanic on the spot - but it’s a nightmare to get it consistently.
It’s really hard to make live interaction central to the game without half-killing the GM.
yeah there’s a real easy way to do that.
don’t!
I’ve played 6/7 (missing into the breach)
completed 3/7 (limbus, dome & slay the princess)
dnd is like 3 hours a week, one day a week, in a room of friends, with an easy to craft setup, with easy to understand rules, and a lot of times for the host to take a break
you can ~maybe get two or three of those without just being dnd, and at that point people might just wanna go play dnd!
That reminds me that I need to cancel my DnD game tomorrow because I am not nearly done with prep for it.
what game are you referring to?
the uh
how do i describe those
high-interactivity roleplay games where you can move around a lot people try to run onsite
Alternatively, I throw together 12 maps tomorrow while juggling internship applications before 5pm EST, but that just sounds miserable.
goodluck with your apps
yes but which specific one?
do not do that
the general concept
i’m claiming they’re a bad idea for people to try and run
huh
I was going to run one with 3d rendered rooms but
ended up not doing it
yes they’re probably tragic
… now I have an idea for the 3d rendered image one.
NO
lmao
i actually had a teaser for it somewhere
i think it was on the old forums
so sad
