xenoblade 2 looks like a gacha game and even has a gacha mechanic that is completely pointless because it’s a one-time purchase and so the model is completely unnecessary

Yeah. If you want a character to look a stripper, sure, but they gotta act like it makes sense. Pyra is demure as shit and you can see her thong straps hiked up around her waist. The dissonance makes it really off-putting.

like that’s the thing right. i think my barometer for “is this female character design that’s meant to be attractive misogynistic?” is “is this an outfit an actual person would wear in this context, or is it just an artifice? are we supposed to be attracted to this woman as a Person or as, just, a piece of eye candy?”
