like this for instance. im not sure if this particular street is one or two way, but ive had to drive on a busy two-way street with this exact amount of empty space, parked cars on both sides, with traffic coming at me. what i was supposed to do is judge when i can go in, and temporarily slide in an empty space so the guy in front of me can pass. everyone is supposed to do that. but its really difficult for me

I once took a wrong turn driving at night and went down a street like this not realising now narrow it was. Somebody came down the toher way, there wasn’t enough space, I hit a parked car :(

I had my permit, my mom was in the other seat, she immediately swapped seats with me and pretended she was driving so I wouldn’t lose my permit for getting in an accident. She worked things out with the guy who owned the car and didn’t get insurance involved. I still think about that sometimes like holy shit she just did that for me without a second thought (she is a very law-minded person so this was a big deal to her)

I mean certainly less by volume, the few European cities I’ve been through were much less “clean” driving environments than here, but there’s certainly bad streets in Massachusetts cities around this level

My first driving test was around the level of like a good spot in a European city. Which is VERY chaotic for the US. Very sad no cure
