national salad of bulgaria, you chop the tomatoes like that. i dont actually do it myself, i dont really eat tomatoes and when i do i also eat them like apples but this is how mostly everyone else does it
there are also cucumbers that are missing from this pic, sliced cucumbers mandatory. and peppers are not mandatory, kinda rare. replace peppers with cucumbers for the actual salad

That’s not a good comparisonin the kitchen the cooks almost exclusively worked with pre-made foods and vegetables.
I think I only saw ginger in the original form, because it needed to be freshly graded for one cook.
