Same here. Elderlish nationalistic people tend to bash it, but they’re so politically illiterate that they gloss over human rights oversight and the millions of money they send for FREE to countries to improve their infrastructure.
I’m not saying EU is perfect, there’s still, as always, corporate evilbosses as always and there’s definetly self-interests at play, but the mechanisms they have in place are great to me.

Bulgaria is probaby one biggest benefitors from EU. We get so much stuff for free. It scares me when our far right party wants to leave. They wanna leave EU and NATO too. And they were the second highest popular party in a recent election i saw

People want to leave the EU because “Ewww Schengen they’re going to send people to deposit their trash here” (???) and “They’re going to make my poor poor baby Romania queer”.
The extremist I was talking about initially said they want to distance themselves from NATO and EU, but then walked back on it saying he’d only want restrictions. But still, what restriction, sweetie? The only thing the EU does that I’d consider damaging is them fining the hell out of us because our sorry-bum country isn’t capable of dealing with its ecological disasters, landfills at the periphery of some cities and authorities are so full of nepotism and incompetence that nobody is doing anything.
