like I somewhat find comfort in them atrempting to convince me to get the longest and most expensive warranty possible because it seems their business model is selling very expensive warranties and then having nobody claim on them

Finished The Roottrees are Dead.
9/10 for base game, 8/10 for Roottreemania.
Main game’s really good, though its final reveal is disappointingly simple.
Roottreemania has a lot more interesting chaos at play, but its story takes forever to kick in and fails to really push you to find those elements that make this a much better mystery than the main game. As such, most of its really cool reveals are something you realize in retrospect when the final reveal occurs.
If you’re playing this (and you should go play this), my advice is that there is only one person who you cannot identify as being definitively or definitively not a Roottree, so treat the final section with that lens.
Would very much recommend this game.
Sorbet was mediocre

it’s basically all strong features
i would say the spell list is kinda lukewarm
the best options are fly and conjure minor elementals but those are coming in quite late since most campaigns end in the 9-12 level range
