I like inoffensive setups. I think the social aspect is offensive and wild enough. There are other video games where i can scratch my itch of having a difficult, frustrating, and swingy experience. Forum mafia is the only one where I can get the social experience
As a player, I lean more towards the mech-heavy side, partly because I’ve never been great at social deduction as a whole. It’s also like a puzzle for me: I like being faced with a seemingly impossible situation and working out how things have occurred.
As a GM, to the surprise of absolutely no one, I also prefer writing the latter. I think my games tend to be defined by their narrative focus, for better and for worse: Temporal Mafia used a narrative of irrational hate to drive its central mechanic, Circle Mafia was built upon layers of flavor, Succession Mafia and Zelda Mafia drew upon their existing media to be adapted in some way to mafia, and Anime Mafia’s themes of selfishness and sacrifice played into the way I designed both town and mafia.
The problem with narrative storytelling is that it just takes one misstep for an entire game to be sour. Temporal Mafia lying about the mafia made it a frustrating game, Circle Mafia’s enormous scope and multitude of mechanics meant that no one could piece anything together, and Anime Mafia’s design ethos worked against the enjoyment of its own players.
Perhaps the answer is simply that I shouldn’t commit the full nine yards to mechanical complexity, but given that it’s what I enjoy playing and making, I think I just need to get better at it.
yeah
im bad at actually finishing closed setups
my most recent one was bg3 upick which was a collab with kyo so
yeah no having it intentionally suboptimal to build up other jokers is valid
however previous screenshot from my friend showed no jokers that worked like that and the boss he had was the Needle
also man sleeping with the heater off was maybe not the best idea when it’s literally freezing outside
it do be kinda chilly this morning
hello dark orange
The US is the country thats probably the most progressive in terms of queer equality but relatively behind in terms of womens equality. Bulgaria has better women equality than the US. Interesting how that came to be
You play stardew valley youre such a girl cute
People are into Balatro, meanwhile I am into Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers because I’m already having enough difficulties with Blackjack, choosing to either Hit or Stand…
I unironically fare better with a Random Deck, because the standard decks require time to polish, and the Wizard’s Deck is just literal trash… (Don’t even get me started on the Glitched Deck.)
It’s almost time, just six days away, it’s almost Femboy Christmas
Watching The Dragon Prince’s final(?) season.
It is good.
