Not sure sorry. You showed some screenshots. You said one of your friends said youre dating. And your collar friend wants to. But i dont know about you. Did you change your mind from before?

I’m going along with it #goingalongwithit

If I were really that unassertive I wouldn’t have protested formally dating in the first place. I’ve decided that there’s basically no penalty for trying so I may as well

I dont feel much or any pity for strangers*

I feel bad for my friends and id try to make them feel better but im not going to make myself feel miserable or distraught about it*

If you take everything that happens to others as if it happened to you and you feel bad about it you will burn out. So one way or another you just stop doing it. Nobody can keep doing it forever

wrong, i will bear the burden of every man

I feel worried for everyone, i dont want the bad thing to happen to anyone, but if the bad thing already happened im not gonna make myself feel bad about it thats just bad i think and doesnt help. At least thats what i imagine when i read “pity”

I think hte majority of people I speak to delude themselves extensively on why they don’t or shouldn’t feel pity for strangers trying to justify it from a moral perspective. As in, they go “oh, that guy on the street probably doesn’t really need my help, or I shouldn’t help him”. And they spend a lot of time in their minds triyng to convince themselves this reason for them not helping is true. It’s not. They just don’t want to. And it’s fine to not want to, people normally do act in their own self-interest and it’s understandable. But they shouldn’t delude themselves about it.

I dont see your distinction between the delusion and “i dont want to”. Those two examples you listed are the same thing as “i dont want to” when i read it

Extraversion

Agreeableness

Conscientiousness

Neuroticism

Openness to experience

What? There’s a world of difference between “oh everybody who asks for money on the street is lying and doesn’t really need help” or “giving these people money will actually make their lives worse” and “I understand it’d make somebody’s life better but I don’t want to”
