Im going to switch to normal, i hope nobody minds. That means I will have more info than other players but im not gonna tryhard by not giving likes. Previous game i played while being the host too and i got the least amount of likes per posts out of everyone

I read an excellent research paper last year that goes over this issue in much more depth

the authors’ position has issues (they spend far too much time talking about the logistical challenges of making this kind of architectural change to the website, which orange or any of the other nerds can tell you are actual relatively easy changes to make), but they brought up some valid points that I’d like to share

first, Eliza liking posts brings up the general morale of the forum, since most people appreciate the small surge of dopamine received when they receive a like, so limiting her likes would be detrimental to the overall site morale

second, the site crashing due to an integer overflow as a result of Eliza liking too many posts is extremely unlikely to occur, as there must be posts to be liked (i.e. even though Eliza is capable of liking so many posts that it crashes the site, there must first be that many posts in the first place)

third, even though such a change is ‘just a prank bro,’ and would be reverted after a 24 hour period, studies have shown that Eliza can experience withdrawal symptoms when she’s unable to instantly like posts, which would be extremely detrimental to her health
