tested a DNS constraint thing (seemed less complicated than a straight up poker hand one) for my code… … . … but I put 164 as one of the DNS values and absolutely lost my mind trying to figure out why my code wasnt working.
started to read this, and I thought you were talking about covid… (i know I made up the term, but it’s still funny)
Round 7 ended.
The results are:
- Zone - full house [193]
- Marshal - full house [103]
- Ash - DNS [184]
Third: Squirrel - DNS [77]
@Marshal @Zone_Q11 @Ash @Squirrel2412
Hands are shared to the ones, who gained a hand.
Round 8 starts now, you have 24 hours to submit a number.
TIL that limiting a single card’s value to “few” possibilities means nothing if you don’t know what the values of other cards are. Math can only get me so far. I can’t do this without more data.
Wow. We got **** numbers.
First I thought 199 would give a Straight Flush.
I was so obsessed with it to the point where I promoted the 198 reward before Round 1.
Now, with the hypothesis that I have, I no longer see it as feasible.
In fact, I am assuming that we might not see more than 2 Straight Flushes in this game.
Whoever has [155] or [175] must be very happy right now… Speaking of which, who has yet to submit their Round 8 numbers?
Since the question came up multiple times:
If they are poker hands with the same rank (and with the same composition) they tie their placement on the list.
And Poker hands with the same rank, check the part which is naming the poker hand before the rest of the hand.
(So even if a 4 of a kind 8 uses a 10 as a fifth card, any 4 of a kind 9 still beats that hand.)
Full houses checks the three of the kind part before the pair part.
(A full house with 3 1s ans 2 10s, still lose a full house with 3 2s, even if their pair aren’t 10s)
Results for round 8 are in:
- Marshal - 4 of a kind [175]
- Squirrel - 4 of a kind [51]
- Ash - two pairs [168]
- Zone - DNS [182]
Everyone got their hand.
Round 9 starts now, and you all have 24 hours to submit a number.
Eh? 175… is not Straight Flush?
Ah, ****. Time to start from scratch.
I feel like… this time, this game might really be unsolvable.
sorry how the fuck did I miss this in signups
this is a scandal and the reason nobody notified me was because they wanted a chance. which I get! I would wipe the floor with you all. but. RIGGED.
The game had a shorter than usual signup period. (I didn’t want the gamestart mash with Zone’s FM game) I really thought, if anyone was interested in the game, a bit less than a week would suffice to join.
Round 9 numbers are in.
- Ash - Straight flush [155]
- Marshal - 4 of a kind [42]
- Squirrel 3 of a kind [148]
- Zone DNS [184]
@Zone_Q11 @Ash @Marshal @Squirrel2412
every results are sent out.
You have 24 hours to send out your last number. (The players, who still have a joker, can choose what number they want to submit.)
You can still try and solve the game without the hand info.
Might get the suits wrong, but it’d be close enough.
round 10 ended.
the results are:
- Marshal - straight flush [199]
- Zone - four of a kind [joker]
- Squirrel - four of a kind [joker]
- Ash - three of a kind [138]
Dangit @Squirrel2412…
Why did you give me the option to switch your joker when you were going to AFK immediately afterwards!?
Sigh. Anyhow, @Marluna @Ash I think we should start the paradigm shift now. From competition to cooperation.
