There was an experiemnt a guy did on chess dot com
He made two accounts, one with male human name and his picture, and one with female human name and a picture of his girlfriend. Then he played on both until he reached his true ELO
His discovery was that the female account had ~50 times more friend requests from opponents than the male one, and also that opponents were ~10 times more likely to be toxic in chat or stall the timer out when losing instead of conceding or making a move when he played on the female account. He never used the chat in both
This is probably not a surprise for any woman who uses the internet but I found it crazy just how much bigger both numbers were
