there are only two worlds where squirrel tells the jk to go for wazza and then kills wazza anyway:

  1. he is the jailkeeper himself. the first thing i should say here is that squirrel can’t claim jailkeeper without outing himself, because the way he’s been playing doesn’t support him being a town pr - he’s asked to die numerous times and a town pr should never do that. if nobody claims jailkeeper in a massclaim, the jailkeeper is outed as mafia, because the jailkeeper is clearly alive and a town jailkeeper has no reason not to claim and out their clears (consider that the jailkeeper has at least one clear, from n4, since they didn’t target wazza).
  2. he knows there’s no jailkeeper (how would he know? the rolecop was a packwolf, so unless squirrel has been found and added to wolfchat, and the wolves rolecopped a tracker, he shouldn’t know this. also the tracker should be dead right now instead of wazza, because the tracker can out him and the neighborizer can’t).

in conclusion: i believe squirrel is a villager unless he is exactly the jailkeeper, in which case he’s a wolf. therefore, the town jailkeeper should claim tomorrow and give their clear(s). i think the jailkeeper being someone other than squirrel clears squirrel, because there’s no way squirrel tells the jailkeeper to target wazza and then kills wazza anyway.

tomorrow will have at least two prs. one of them will most likely be the jailkeeper.

if the jailkeeper dies overnight, squirrel is clear. if the jailkeeper claims and it’s not squirrel, squirrel is also clear.

if the jailkeeper doesn’t claim, squirrel is still on the table, and the jailkeeper is confirmed to be a wolf. with the jailkeeper not claiming, my social reads tell me squirrel should be on the bottom of the poe, but still above ranta. we will have two clears in the n3 vig and the deathproof/governor; if the jailkeeper doesn’t claim despite being alive, these two roles are confirmed to be villagers, since jailkeeper not claiming is outing.

if tomorrow has two prs including the jailkeeper, and the jailkeeper doesn’t claim, the other pr is lock clear. this is the hardest world. i currently think moose, atlas and ybw are most likely villagers, in roughly that order of confidence.

if tomorrow has two prs not including the jailkeeper, squirrel should be treated as a clear because he doesn’t kill wazza if he’s not the jailkeeper. he had told the jailkeeper to target wazza. this is pointless to do if he’s not the jailkeeper.

if tomorrow has three prs including the jailkeeper, and the jailkeeper doesn’t claim, the other two prs are both clears.

i’m starting to think that if the jailkeeper has a clear, they should claim right now. if squirrel isn’t that clear, then we get 3 clears for free. and if we assume the jailkeeper isn’t lock town, that’s still 2 clears, because a wolf jailkeeper still has to “clear” someone who’s town.

going into the night with 2 clears and 2 other living prs, at least one of which is guaranteed to be town, and with the jailkeeper having a chance to catch the wolf, i think this is optimal.

well in any case i feel like jailkeeper claiming here is still optimal because it will stop marl from tunneling a villager.

and it gives 2-3 clears out of 7 players which seems pretty good to me, especially since the n3 vig is still alive and most likely town.
if there is no jailkeper or the jailkeeper’s mafia then i guess we go with ranta/squirrel.

like i said if squirrel’s mafia he has to be exactly the jailkeeper. if he doesn’t know if there’s a jailkeeper or not, he probably still wouldn’t take the risk in attacking the target he just told the jk to protect.
