Like in its current incarnation it was bad, but giving a pre-emptive warning that dead chat will have a 1 shot vig in a certain day and not making it strongman is fine by me. Its basically the same balance wise as giving town a 1-shot X-Cycle vig

  • I played miserably this game post Day 1 because I was completely checked out and I’m sorry about that.
  • The game mechanics are not good, do not do random dead thread murders or 2 lives for townies again please.
  • I was invisible this game so I understand why people didn’t listen, but (Let the checks live and solve them later) doesn’t mean ignore them forever.
  • I should have pushed the KT->Stella thing more, see: Invisible/checked out
    -I’d like to play a real game of mafia with some of the people here.
    -The scum team played well and none of this should take away from their win. GGs!

And the power of those type of claims cannot be understated. Just because there are other options that are claimable doesn’t mean they are as strong potentially. You claim a hard investigative when you have a specific plan in mind that requires it and is the sort of claim that you play radically differently as a wolf compared to any other option. There is the town FPS to protect a top town read and/or bait a kill but that potential value is somewhat lesser in practice, even if the average use is probably around the same.

in terms of the overall design of the setup i think as a mafia player it was godawful to play in and incredibly townsided. the only reason we won was because of many large mechanical misplays on village’s end

first off - the KP ratio. there was 16 village kp activated this game, counting eliminations and the spec chat vig. of this 16 village kp:

  • 13 landed on villagers (every day’s elimination, neon’s 3 vig shots, raji’s shot on jar, dum’s shot on leafia and poison on bean, and leafia’s pgo on lucy)
  • 3 landed on wolves (eliza’s poison on me, dum’s poison on kt, and the spec chat vig on me)

comparatively, wolves had 6 kp the entire game, one of which was protected. this is just an utterly absurd ratio. the only thing we had able to remove players from the game was our factional kill and one use of a loverizer that we had to plan in advance that nearly ended up being negative utility anyway

this is a massive issue because it meant we had 0 ability to remove threatening voices from the game especially when they had two lives

we could not kill anyone in less than two nights unless town did part of the work for us. this is just an absurdly townsided mechanic in so many ways and its a wonder that we won despite it

second the spec chat vig was just so awful i know i already mentioned it but we had literally 0 way to counteract or predict it. it was especially egregious because i was not majority selected for the vig - that was a completely arbitrary and nonsensical ruling that made an otherwise mechanically locked game winnable for village

third of all the way the game was run during the game made me think that thought was not really put into the setup? like i would ask basic interaction questions (like heal/freeze interactions or whether frozen players can carry the factional kill) and get an “uh let me check”, which is indicative of issues with the hosting of it. the reason i bring this up was because it created a major issue when dum’s shot on leafia was misprocessed and then publicly corrected, which not only confirmed dum’s role but also his target for that night.

this game was filled with design and running issues imo and as hosts you need to do better

Town also has greats uses for fake claims. In general, outting this type of info just limits play. You get nothing from doing it
