heres what bothers me.
Most people fundamentally agree alignment cops are toxic and in general require no skill. Yet, because I wanna make it public I dont use them in my game its not fine?

yeah the difference is players speculating they are toxic is one thing, it being hard mod confirmed is another
Iāmma post my own thoughts on this now, if thatās aight with yall. Just gonna use the host account cause I donāt feel like logging into my own atm.
First, vast majority of the praise or, more likely, blame should fall on me for the mech, since I did the vast majority of it off a flavour basis that Chihiro provided. We were actively laughing every time Millium said something about not letting Chihiro design setups anymore as a result.
I also did the role cards, and Iām hoping people enjoyed seeing them as much as I did making them, cause I think theyāre pretty. Especially enjoyed making the example card.
From a mechanical perspective over the course of designing this setup:
I started with a list of characters with pokemon that would be thematic to them, provided by Chihiro and apparently a friend of theirs.
This initially resulted in each slot having four abilities, at least 12 potential status effects, and potentially a 3p serial killer.
This was eventually whittled down immensely.
I spent months constantly going āwhat about this as an idea thoughā to all three of Chihiro, Osie, and Zone. Iām fairly certain I tested their patience in the process, though I hope they all had fun regardless.
Weāve also been poking both Zone and Osie every time something came up mech-wise where we werenāt sure what should happen. Theyāve essentially been shadow-resolving things for most of this game, so much thanks to them for that effort as well. Chihiro had final say as this was nominally their game, but each instance ended up as a bit of a debate despite that. XD
Pesterballs were a last minute addition when people were sad about the lack of likes. Iām hoping people enjoyed them, but I think Iāll do something similar but slightly different if they come up again, just to simplify the action resolution stage.
At one point we were thinking about giving Solrock the move Wonder Room. This would have flipped the entire Action Resolution order. Iām still not sure if this is even a reasonable, non-headache inducing idea, but it would have been funny.
Happy with the status ailments, but Chihiro is correct that having permadelayed actions is weird. I might make a game around that later though, cause itād be an interesting concept on its own.
The spreadsheet of Night actions is very much a headache inducer btw just due to the sheer number and complexity of actions, I might need to figure out a better way to record things despite Chihiro doing a good job at making it at least legible. XD
Hardest part of this game was shutting up and not posting responses to things said in chats and thread. How dare you all be so charismatic.
