i actually dont like modrevealling roles. I usually like setups with mech that wont just flat out spell out the game for you, but can help if used properly

i have significant issue with how several people played this game from day 1
however, im afraid that if i put any effort into talking about this ill become a martyr

playing mafia is difficult for me, physically and mentally, and Iā€™ve been trying to figure out a balance for a while but i dont know. i genuinely dont know what to do and havent for a while
im definitely not going to play as much mafia anymore. i have so much else to do and its not looking likely to slow down. maybe once i get a laptop charger which wont kill me. i have to say, the parts of this game i played on laptop were definitely my highlights, i wish i could do that more

for the hosts: interesting flavor, good ideas, semi flipless makes the game hard as hell to keep track of, likes are cooler than you think

Modreavealing as in; the mod revealed publicly the names of people who visited the target of the watcher.
The thing is that there were races (which were your alignment) and there were classes with your abilities
So being a class didnā€™t necessarily mean you were good or bad
And everyone had 1 race card and 1 class card

if I was builidng an Open setup for 10-3 Iā€™d sayā€¦

yeah 10-3 Vanilla leans Scum sided, and the roles donā€™t really give me much indication itā€™s less than that. I aimed as close as I could for 50-50 but Iā€™m saying itā€™s got a slight scum lean, probably.

Thereā€™s also my setup that used to have 2 lives potentially, but that feature got scrapped while playing this game.

dang it i was going to offer to help as well

mostly because hosting is fun and is one of the few mafia related things i will have time for this year

Like the idea for this setup is, because itā€™s open, all the town know to expect that an extra kill can come in and that the scum will be looking for the 3 power roles with their role cop. Conversely, a full power cop is VERY strong, and a pair of masons who are confirmed town to each other are also strong. If both masons claim, the scum team can shoot them both, unless they both claim day 1, which is a possible strategy. Otherwise, handling the cop with your role cop is a big deal, because you get 2 shots a night (NK and rolecop) to try and find the cop, plus the extra vig 1 shot when you want.

In general, this game usually balances to have it come down to 3P ELO, which is not bad at all!
